Dec 23, Trace rated it it was amazing Shelves: Chanvara Great Desert is a desert in the east that stretches from Chandara to Pteros. And it DOES have some really nice art and some really nice dinosaurs. Arthur and Bix accept the Emperor’s offers to stay in Chandara for a while to fully discover the city and its culture.
This is Gurney at his best. Most of them take place in the modern world, unlike the books, which are mostly set in the midth century.

With this fourth installment, the series joruney redeemed! Everything is so thoroughly thought-out, and you find yourself fully immersed in the world. The worldbuilding is of the highest quality.
He drew dinosaur pictures for the kids, talked about his development as an artist, showed some large versions of his paintings. Dinosaurs are not the only prehistoric creatures on the island.
