The Management Authority shall also be responsible for the following tasks relating to the Communication Infrastructure:. SIS II should permit the processing of biometric data in order to assist in the reliable identification of the individuals concerned. However, it is appropriate to strengthen cooperation between the European Union and Interpol by promoting an efficient exchange of passport data. The purpose of SIS II shall be, in accordance with this Decision, to ensure a high level of security within the area of freedom, security and justice of the European Union including the maintenance of public security and public policy and the safeguarding of security in the territories of the Member Decizoa, and to apply the provisions of Title IV of Part Three of the EC Treaty relating to the movement decixia persons in their territories, using information communicated via this system.
